The youths in Abagana held a historic congress to set a new path for their future and develop a common agenda in preparation for the 2015 general elections.

The congress held at Ezi Udoeke Square observed that the activities of a people during election had a lot to do with how democratic dividends are distributed.

Thus, the youths vowed to stand behind the government of Anambra State led by a people oriented Governor, Chief Willie Obiano who has shown enough goodwill in less than 12 months in office.

The massive support enjoyed by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and its candidates for the 2015 elections across many local government areas was replicated at the Youth Congress in Abagana, Njikoka Local Government Area with the declaration of support for Governor Obiano and all APGA Candidates.

The young men and women made-up of youths from Abagana Ward 1 extolled the virtues of Governor Willie Obiano and promised to stand behind the Governor and APGA come March 28 and April 11, 2015.

Speaking during the congress, the Executive Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano on Social Media, Comrade Ifeanyi Aniagoh charged the youths to discard fake campaign promises and stand with a willingly working Governor. Comrade Aniagor emphasized that “the pace at which Governor Obiano transformed Anambra State using his 4Cs strategy in less than a year gives hope to every community within the state”.

“Chief Willie Obiano is a youth friendly Governor, within 10 months he registered Anambra Youths via anambrayouthconnect.com, provided over 2,000 direct and indirect jobs and currently leads in provision of employment opportunities through Youth-in-Agriculture programmes” .

In his speech, the ward coordinator of National Youth Council of Nigeria, Comrade Ferdinand Ibekwe thanked Governor Obiano for appointing Ifeanyi Aniagoh as his aide stating that Abagana Ward 1 is lucky to have one of their active youths in the Governor’s team.

In same vein, Comrade Chuma Nwandu who is the Ward Chairman of United Anambra Youth Assembly, reminded the congress of the need to support APGA saying, “I believe our yearnings and aspirations can be achieved if we tow this path. Governor Obiano and APGA can complete the Ezi-Icheke – Nimo Road, give us water, rebuild our schools and positively engage us. We have better stake in this government. I believe the long neglect by past governments will soon be over”.

The congress unanimously agreed to support the administration of Chief Willie Obiano and massively vote for all APGA candidates.
