The wife of the governor of Anambra State, Chief (Mrs.) Ebelechukwu Obiano has showered encomiums on a couple, Dr. Obi and Barrister (Mrs.) RosalineIfezulike for donating one unit of Ford Ambulancevehicle to support delivery of medical services in the rural communities of Anambra by the Caring Family Enhancement Initiative (CAFÉ), an NGO promotedby the governor’s wife.
Mrs. Obiano expressed profound appreciation to the donors for identifying with CAFÉ and supporting programmes that impact positively on the health of the people. She described the gesture as an indication that thecouple indeed hasa “heart of gold.” According to the governor’s wife, “ I am elated and excited that the ambulance is coming at a very good time because CAFÉ needs such support as we are set to commence the setting-up of Old Peoples’ Home in the three Senatorial Districts of the State and we have acquired land for the project.“
Mrs. Obianoassured the donor that the ambulance would be effectively utilized in the service of Ndi Anambra. The wife of the governor restated her commitment to the promotion of the welfare of Ndi Anambra and support of the people oriented programmes of the administration of her husbandthrough CAFÉ. She also called on other public spirited individuals to emulate the philanthropic gesture of the donors.
Explaining the reasons for donating the Ford Ambulance to CAFÉ, Barrister Mrs. RoselineIfezulike said that her family has been observing with admiration the activities of CAFÉ towards the improvement of the health and lives of Ndi Anambra both young and old. We therefore decided “to transfer to your CAFÉ programme, one unit of Ford Ambulance vehicle for you to deploy as you deem fit for the movement of the aged and the sick whom you have shown so much love.” She stated.
Handing over the keys of the Ambulance to wife of the governor, Dr. Obi Ifezulike, a Consultant Physician, told the governors’ wife that the ambulance is an expression of the Ifezulike family’s appreciation of her effort and a show of support.
In a brief remark, a friend of the family and Chairman, Anambra State Local Government Service Commission, Dr. Sir, Peter Egenti, said that the ambulance donation is a manifestation of what Mrs. Ifezulike had always felt and expressed about a desire to support the programmes of the governors’ wife through CAFÉ. He commended the family for the gesture noting that it actually came from a ‘heart of gold.’
