The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano has pledged to train the three surviving children whose parents and elder brother died recently in accident at Agu Awka, to University level.

Governor Obiano gave indication of the government support for the surviving children while speaking at the burial Mass for Joseph Mary, Celestina and Richard‎ Odinigwe at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Enugwu-Ukwu.

Governor Obiano who consoled the Odinigwe family for the tragic loss observed that,” the survival of the three children of the Odinigwe family is a miracle.‎There is no doubt that God’s mercy was at work. Anyone who visited the site of that accident like I did with my wife after visiting the children at the hospital can attest to the miracle. May the soul Rest In Peace.”

In his Homily, the Spiritual Director of Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, Ukeh, Rev Fr. Emmanuel Obimma, said that the three members of the Odinigwe family whose bodies were contained in white caskets have embarked on a journey.

He noted that death was a leveler that spares no one, and that it comes with pain and sorrow when people lose friends and relatives.

He however ‎called on all to take solace in  the fact that Christ swallowed death, thereby  giving hope of resurrection to the righteous who would surely rise again.

Rev. Fr Obinma, who confirmed that the late Joseph-Mary Obinigwe, his Personal Assistant, was a very obedient and diligent worker who was ever ready to serve; stated that there was no doubt that their time had come.

Concurring that there was invisible hand of God at work at the time of the accident, he recalled, “I was out of the country, but I tried very much to reach him on phone to no avail, perhaps the message would have altered his movement on that day”.

He also urged all to be prepared at all times.

Expressing appreciation of the family, Mr. Uchenna Odinigwe, a brother of the deceased said that Anambra State was indeed blessed to have Governor Obiano and his wife at this time.

He thanked the Governor for the several visitations and support they’ve rendered to the family since the accident occurred, and several others for their sympathy.
