All is now set to host the Maritime National Discourse scheduled to take place at Rockview Hotel, Apapa on Thursday, September 10, 2015.

According to a press statement issued to news men yesterday by Platforms Communications and signed by Mr. Kelvin Kagbare, Secretary of the Organising Committee, all arrangements have been concluded to ensure the success of the occasion.

Kagbare noted that the need to discuss the future of Nigeria Maritime Sector in the next five years cannot be over-emphasized, considering the change in government and the fall in oil price which has made the maritime sector a veritable alternative.

He however called on maritime stakeholder groups and practitioners to attend the event in order to chart a way forward for the sector in the years ahead.

On his own, the Chairman of Port Consultative Council, Otunba Kunle Folarin who was a guest and previewed the up-coming Discourse on MARITIME PLATFORM Radio Program yesterday said the uniqueness of the event was that all heads of various government agencies and key stakeholder groups would converge to chart a way forward for the development of the sector.

The National Discourse which will begin by 9am has its theme as: “Nigeria Maritime Sector in the Next 5 Years, Deciding Where We Want to Be”. All maritime stakeholder groups, practitioners and the general public are cordially invited.
