The Managing Director disclosed that the Federal Government had approved the establishment of deep/dry seaports in some part of the country in order to increase the facilities provided by the Authority.

He further stressed that the Federal Government had put up rail system to ease the movement of cargo from the Ports to any destination across the nation while the management was collaborating with the State Government and stakeholders to make the access road motorable.

The Managing Director said that there are only seven agencies that are approved by the Federal Government to carry out examination of goods while others may be invited by the Nigerian Customs if the need arise.

He also commended the terminal operators for the acquisition of the state of the art equipment that had eased Ports operations in Nigeria.

In his response, the leader of delegation Michael Druss thanked the Management of Nigerian Ports Authority for the tremendous development and transformation that had taken place in the various terminals across the nation.

Mr. Druss said the courtesy visit was to partner with Nigerian Ports Authority so as to agree on modalities for both organisations (NPA/UPS) to operate harmoniously.

Other members of the delegation include Kordy, Agubata, Manager Freight Forwarding and Contract Logistics Nigeria (UPS) and Michael Usifoh.
