Freight forwarders operating in the country have been advised to shun every act of malpractice that will put them and their businesses in bad light.

The General Manager, Kenbee International Nigeria Limited, Mr. Fabunmi Adesoji Aderemi who gave this advice in Lagos recently shortly after an award ceremony organized in recognition of an outstanding performance of an outstanding freight forwarding expert , Alhaji Oba Adebayo, also warned them to be cautious on the ways and manners they conduct themselves in the process of handling their daily business of freight forwarding by only ensuring proper declaration of their consignments with fairness and integrity which falls in line with the ethics of the profession of freight forwarding business as that would be the only thing that would guarantee the future of their businesses and the industry at large.

The elaborate ceremony which took place at Seme Border was put together by a media organization, the Corporate News Magazine in honour of the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, Allhaji Oba Adebayo for his outstanding contributions to the growth and development of the freight forwarding sector in particular and the maritime industry in general.

While extolling the virtues of the Kenbee boss, the General Manager said he had paid his dues in the freight forwarding subsector of the economy emphasizing that it was his track records that had positioned him for such recognition by the a reputable media organization like the Corporate News magazine.

According to him, even his inputs towards the peaceful co-existence of the various freight forwarding associations in Seme border area and the entire nation speaks volume of his personality.

He called on the youths mostly the young freight forwarders to emulate the character of Alhaji Adebayo mostly in the area of his commitment and uprightness in his dealings.

“Alhaji is a nice and straightforward man and a good boss of mine whom I have worked with for many years and have studied his characters and behavior and can authoritatively say he is good and a man to work with. I lack the appropriate words to qualify him.”

In his acceptance speech, Alhaji Adebayo expressed happiness and gratitude to the publishers of the magazine for sighting him and recognizing his works in the years past adding that what the award had done to him was to spur him to do more.

“I want to thank the management and staff of Corprate News magazine for its thorough sightedness and their ability to search me out of many freight forwarders in Seme border. I am more than excited and will continue to do more to the growth of the industry particularly the freight forwarding sub-sector of the economy which contributes over 70 per cent revenue to the federal government coffers.”

The awardee also called on various freight forwarding groups in the country and particularly in the Seme area to continue to embrace peaceful co-existence in the discharge of their duties.
