The Chairman, Senate Committee on Marine Transport, Senator Ahmed Yerima has commended the management of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) for improved revenue generation.

He also reiterated that the current administration was very serious about its fight against corruption and that it was indeed time for change.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Managing Director of NPA Mallam Habib Abdullahi had told the distinguished Senators that NPA had embarked upon blockage of most revenue leakages sincethree years ago and it was still working tirelessly to achieve zero tolerance for revenue leakages.

As a result, rather than loose funds, NPA has recorded increase in revenue generation.

Mallam Abdullahi also added that NPA had embarked on lots of projects to improve the service delivery of the organisation and that the company has a resounding success in all its projects thus far.

In the company of Senator Ahmed Yerima were Sen. Ahmed Sanni Uman, Sen. Isiaka Adeleke, Sen. Salami Phiare, Sen. Theodore Orji, Sen. Clifford Ordia, Sen. Kabiru Gaya, Sen. Adeola Olamilekan and Sen. Emmanuel Paulka while with the Managing Director were the Executive Directors of Marine and Operations Engr. David Omonibeke, Finance and Administration Mr Olamide Oduntan and Engineering, Technical Services, Engr. Mohammed Saleh and some General Managers.
