It was reminiscences and the relive of good old memories Tuesday March 22, 2016 as the Founder of NAGAFF Dr. Boniface Aniebonam led top management members of the Association on a courtesy visit to the AIG Zone 2, Bala Hassan.

The setting was the conference room of the AIG Zone 2, Onikan Lagos where Dr. Aniebonam submitted that the role played by AIG Bala Hassan in the inauguration of NAGAFF in 1999 is the tonic Nigerians needed to appreciate and support Nigerian Police for the protection of Nigeria Constitution.

Dr. Aniebonam said the visit was to enable the new crop of NAGAFF leadership to know and appreciate those who played major role at the foetus stage of NAGAFF in 1999.

The NAGAFF Founder said the statement of AIG, Bala Hassan when he was the Area Commander Area B, Apapa that “as a Police Officer, he is there to protect the law” continues to ring a bell and stands as his guide in whatever he does.

He therefore advised NAGAFF executives at the meeting to always uphold and protect the law anywhere they find themselves, if they are to retain the friendship between the AIG and the Association.

For his part, the National President of NAGAFF Dr. Eugene Nweke congratulated the AIG while appreciating the giant strides made by the top Police Officer and the entire zone in crime bursting and crime prevention, and that the states in the zone are in safe hands.

The NAGAFF National President acknowledged the various reforms being carried out by the current leadership of the Police and expressed gladness that such reforms are beginning to yield results.

Dr. Nweke told the AIG that the little effort he put into the inauguration of NAGAFF on that fateful day in November 1999 has helped in installing a new order in the freight forwarding industry, as NAGAFF has changed the face of the industry by migrating from the old order of “might is right” to a new era of intellectualism and professionalism.

He informed the AIG that NAGAFF has spread the reach of the profession to the nook and cranny of the country, including the North West border towns of Ijibiya in Katsina State.

The NAGAFF President used the occasion to inform the AIG of his nomination for a special award at an elaborate event being planned for May this year by NAGAFF.

The Chairman Board of Trustees, Elder Chidiebere Enelamah also went down memory lane by praising the AIG for helping in planting the seed which has grown to be known as NAGAFF with its tentacles spreading across Nigeria with well over five thousand members.

In his response, AIG Bala Hassan expressed his appreciation to the Founder and the top officers of the Association for the visit, which he said was coming late but concluded with the old adage “better late than never”.

He expressed his happiness at the fact that the small seed of NAGAFF planted on that day the 30th of November 1999 has grown to a big sycamore tree, empowering and creating employment opportunities for youth across Nigeria.

AIG Bala Hassan said he was happy at the metamorphosis of NAGAFF and called for a firm commitment of the two organizations to the task of nation building and crime free society.

He said the Nigeria Police was willing to partner with NAGAFF in line with IGP Solomon Arase’s philosophy of working with well-meaning and law abiding individuals and group for the betterment of our dear country.
