The Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) has announced the close of sale of forms for elections into the Tincan Island Ports, Idiroko and Ikorodu Chapters elections with the short listing of the eligible candidates to stand for election in the affected chapters.

A document signed by the Association’s Electoral Commission (ASECO), Mr. Babatunde Abdulazeez Mukaila and made available to Primetime Reporters in Lagos yesterday by the National Publicity Secretary of ANLCA, Dr. Kayode Farinto indicated that 14 candidates were shortlisted for Tincan Island Chapter, while 1 candidate each was shortlisted for Ikorodu and Idiroko respectively.

The document showed that 2 Chairmanship candidates, 2 Vice Chairmanship candidates, 2 Secretary, 2 Public Relations Officer (PRO), 2 Treasurer, 2 Assistant Secretary and 2 Financial Secretary candidates were shortlisted for Tincan Island Chapter while 1 Chairmanship candidate and 1 Treasurer candidate were shortlisted for Ikorodu and Idiroko respectively.

The participating companies shortlisted for Tincan Island Chapter included; Danmeyaki Investment Ltd., Settle System Nigeria Ltd., Owelle Ventures Ltd., Onas 100 Resources, Oltemate Global Eliton Nigeria Ltd., and Aug Nigeria Ltd.

Others are; Lamayo Nigeria Ltd., God Grace Maritime, Adekat International Agency, Babington Nigeria Ltd., Princess Yesadem International, Mercyland Ventures Ltd., and Big Mike Option Ltd.

Shiram Cargo Services Ltd., and Zafboz Nigeria ltd. Were shortlisted for Ikorodu and Idiroko respectively.

Confirming the list, the ASECO Chairman, Mr. Babatunde Abdulazeez Mukaila attested to the authenticity of the list saying that that was the list obtained by the commission as at the close of sale of forms on Tuesday this week.

On why one candidate was shortlisted for Ikorodu and Idiroko respectively, he said,” I will direct you to their membership base so that you ask them why, I wouldn’t know why, that is the people that has shown aspiration.

On alleged plan by some powerful members to influence the reopening of sale of forms in the affected Chapters, he said,” I wouldn’t know how that will be possible that they will smuggle something into a list that is in your palm. The sale of forms has closed and if there is any reason to reopen it, ASECO still reserve that right.

“We have a time-table we have been following judiciously, you may wish to lay your hand on a copy of the time-table, everything is gazette and we are following and moving with time”.

He however gave the date for the elections to be on the 22nd of June, 2016 at a yet to be determined venue.
