Lagos State Governor, Dr. Akinwunmi Ambode has said that efforts by Governors to deliver good governance will not be effective without the complementary role by their wives.

Ambode who made this remark when he hosted the Southern Governors’ Wives Forum (SGWF) at the Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja,  Lagos Friday described the SGWF as an important platform that would afford wives of Governors share knowledge and exchange notes on governance.

He pointed out that Nigeria was making steady progress despite some daunting challenges that face it adding that this had been made possible due to the commitment of Governors and their spouses.

While commending his wife, Mrs. Bolanle Akinwunmi Ambode and her colleagues for their supportive roles, he however commended the wife of the President, Mrs. Aisha Buhari for conceptualizing the SGWF.

According to him,” Efforts by Governors to deliver good governance will not be effective without the complementary role by their wives. SGWF is an important platform that will afford wives of Governors share knowledge and exchange notes on governance.

“Nigeria pushing on despite challenges, Nigeria has continued to surmount its challenges due to the commitment of Governors and their spouses. I commend my lovely wife, Bolanle and her colleagues for their supportive roles. I commend Mrs. Aisha Buhari, wife of the President of Nigeria for conceptualizing the SGWF”.
