The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, has expressed his support for the players of Ifeanyi Ubah FC as they take on Nassarawa United in the Federation Cup Final at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos, today.

Speaking in Awka early today, Governor Obiano charged Ifeanyi Ubah FC to go all out for victory against Nassarawa United and bring the coveted trophy home to Anambra.

According to Obiano,“I have followed their progress in the league this season and I am impressed with their performance so far.  I think the club has had a remarkable season. They have demonstrated the spirit of Anambra, the spirit of excellence. Their appearance in the Federation Cup final did not take me by surprise because I know what our people can achieve”.

Describing the performance of the club this season as nothing short of phenomenal, Governor Obiano declared that nothing short of victory would be good enough for the club and for Anambra State.

He lauded the international outlook of the club with the presence of players from Brazil whom he said now feel safe enough to ply their trade in the state and expressed optimism that the Nigerian league would improve with the influx of more talents from across the world.

He commended the management of the club for steering it to the pinnacle of Nigerian football in so short a time and expressed hope that its efforts would yield positive fruits with a Federation Cup victory.
