…Dedicates Award to Anambra, Nigerian women
The Wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano has been honoured with the Primetime Reporters’ First Lady of the Year 2016 Award in an event that took place at the Rockview Hotels, Apapa, Lagos Thursday.
The Award which was presented to her Excellency at an event to mark the 3rd Year Anniversary of the Primetime Reporters, Annual Lecture and Award giving ceremony was in recognition of her efforts at caring for the poor, the needy, the less privileged, women and children through her pet project, Caring Family Enhancement Initiative (CAFÉ) and for her support to His Excellency , the Governor of Ananmbra State, Chief Dr. Mmaduabuchukwu Obiano in piloting the affairs of the state thereby making Anambra State a model state.
Receiving the award, the wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano expressed her gratitude to God and to the Management of the medium for the honour done her and the entire Anambra women adding that the award would spur her to do more for the women, children and the less privileged members of the society.
Represented by the Mrs. Pauline Nwandu of the Anambra State Liaison office in Lagos, Mrs. Obiano recounted her activities through the CAFE initiatives to include empowering the indigent women and children of Anambra state through her pet project, CAFÉ, which saw her built houses for some indigent widows cutting across the three senatorial zones of the state, providing prosthetic limbs and wheel chairs for the physically challenged persons in the state, building toilets for market women equipped with modern facilities, training of youths in various skills and empowering them with the tools to practice their skills and many more among other achievements.
While recounting the achievements of the Governor in the area of Security, agriculture, health, education, prompt and consistent payment of the workers’ salaries and internally generated revenue, she called for the support of all Anambrarians to the administration of her husband saying that Gov. Obiano meant well for the people of the state.
She thereafter dedicated the award to the entire Anambra and Nigerian women who she said were contributing a lot to better the economy of the state and the country in general.
Earlier in his speech, the Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief of Primetime Reporters online newspapers, Mr. Saint Augustine Nwadinamuo extolled the good virtues of the wife of the Governor whom he said was detribalized in dealing with all manners of people as exemplified by her inclusion of non Anambra indigenes treated alongside the mentally challenged persons treated free of charge through the CAFÉ initiative.
He noted that the saying that behind every successful man, there is a woman was true as the successes so far recorded by His Excellency the Governor could not have been possible without the support of the wife even as he advised Mrs. Obiano not to give up on her support for the Governor as he meant well for the state.
He further called on all Anambrarian to give the Governor and his wife all the needed support to carry on the business of transforming Anambra State into a destination of choice for investors as according to him, “the Governor has done well and needs the prayer of all Ananmbrarian to succeed”.
Seventeen other Nigerians who had distinguished themselves in their various field of endeavors also received different categories of awards in the event that had as its theme,” Maritime Sector in Nigeria: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow”, among whom is the National Chairman of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Dr. Boniface Aniebonam.
