The Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC) will on 26th May, 2017 host the Nigeria International Maritime Ports and Terminals (NIMPORT) stakeholders’ lunch meeting.
The meeting which will be held at the Shippers’ Plaza, Apapa, Lagos will give all the sponsors, partners and local exhibitors of the forthcoming NIMPORT 2017 opportunity to help assess the preparedness towards the event, the content and quality.
Stakeholders had earlier agreed that NIMPORT 2017 Conference and Expo which will hold from the 22-24 August 2017 be held in Lagos this year.
The return of the event to Lagos after 8 years will showcase the port city advantage, a concept that shows how the presence of the seaport and the logistics centers can accelerate economic development, with the theme ‘Improving Connectivity, Enhancing Trade’.
The Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Hadiza Bala Usman had earlier approved the hosting of same committee meeting on 24th of February 2017 which saw the participation of thirty companies agreeing to expand NIMPORT into an international platform.
The Executive Secretary, Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC), Mr. Hassan Bello has also assure that the May session of the committee meeting would unveil further industry position to the stakeholders on investment attraction and shipping promotion.
NIMPORT is a multi-sector gathering under the auspices of the Federal Ministry of Transportation and the agencies to promote development and open the corridors of transport for investment.
