I The Lagos state Police Command has ordered the general public especially those residing at Ikorodu and its environs to always go along with them valid means of identification henceforth.
The command’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole who made this known in a statement he issued in Lagos Tuesday said this had became important and necessary because of the series of Police operations lined up in the area by the Lagos State Police command led by Deputy Commissioner of Police in-charge operation.
Famous-Cole stated that the Lagos State Police command was deeply concerned about the criminal activities in the area which he said was not only unlawful but also affecting the integrity of the state.
He informed that the planned Police operations in the area demanded residents to carry on them a valid means of identification which would be verified in order not to be restricted or face apprehension as according to him, adequate security arrangements had been put in place for safety of every Nigerian throughout the state by the Police and other security agencies.
He further said that the order takes effect from the 4th day of June, 2017.
