NARTO sets to tackle challenges faced by members at Tincan Island port

…Elects new executives for TCIP units 

The Nigeria Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO) has reassured members operating from Tincan Island port that issues bothering on extortion and other bottlenecks associated with the dry cargo section would be tackle in a couple of weeks. 

The Lagos State Chairman of the foremost transport association, Alhaji Sikiru Kaka disclosed this yesterday during NARTO Tincan Island units’ elections .

Kaka assured that members of TCIP unit 1, 2 and 3 that issues bothering on extortion by government agencies, traffic along the port corridors and others would be in the front burner in the next Annual General Meeting of the association which is slated hold in November 2017.

He called on  shipping lines to streamline their operations in a bid to reduce traffic along the port access roads. 

While addressing the newly elected  executives of the three units at TCIP, he maintained that the national executives council would take a  critical decision on how to  resolve  most of the setbacks faced by the operators in maritime haulage business. 

He further advised the newly elected executives to embrace collective decision tactics, which according to him would bring about unity and progress in discharging their services. 

However , Mr. Olakunle Badru emerged Chairman Tincan Island Chapter Unit one while,  Babayo Haruna-Vice Chairman, and Buba Ibrahim emerged Treasurer.

Others are Muideen Salami as financial Secretary, Kabiru Raheem as PRO/Secretary while  Oladejo Olawale emerged auditor.

For Unit 2 TCIP ,Mr. Ayinde Kasali emerged Chairman whilst Adeoye Adewale won the post of Vice Chairman.

Others include Collins Ibeakolum as Treasurer, Akinrinlola Bankole as Financial Secretary and Sulaimon Ojora as PRO/Secretary. However,  Aliu Idowu emerged Auditor.

Meanwhile for Unit 3 TCIP, Muyideen Olapade emerged Chairman, Amao Usman as vice Chairman and Rahman Salam as Treasurer.

Others are Muibi Aderogba as Finacial Secretary, Waheeb Oladimeji as PRO/Secretary and Rafiu Olujobi as Auditor.
