NPA declares N299.56 billion revenue for 2017

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has said that it generated the sum of N299.56 billion in the 2017 fiscal year.

A statement issued in Lagos by the General Manager Corporate and Strategic Communication of NPA, Abdullahi Goje said that the 2017 figure exceeded the 2016 revenue of N162.20 billion by 84.65% thereby becoming the highest revenue generated by the authority in the last five years.

A breakdown of the revenue generated by the NPA in the last five years according to the statement showed that the agency generated the sum of N154.50 billion in 2013, it increased to N159.30 billion and N180.50 billion in 2014 and 2015 respectively but dropped to N162.20 billion in 2016.

The statement further said that the 2017 figure declared by the authority is made up of revenues from traffic, harbours, administrative and other sources in the sum of N136.04bn, N66.80bn, N86.06bn and N10.75bn respectively.
