The member representing Orlu State Constituency at the Imo state House of Assembly, Hon. Marcel Odunze has urged the people of the area to come out in their numbers to register in the on-going Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise and to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

Odunze stated this during the INEC local government level town hall stakeholders’ meeting held at the Council Headquarters last week.

He noted that the only way the people can vote in the 2019 general election was to register in the on-going CVR exercise and to collect their PVCs so that the citizens can make a choice of who they want in the next election.

The lawmaker thanked the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Prof. Francis Ezeonu and his team for coming to Orlu to sensitize the people on the need to get their PVCs adding that the people of Orlu will take advantage of the sensitization by doing the needful.

He noted that the touring of the 27 LGAs of the state has shown that INEC was really out to conduct free, fair and credible election even as he urged all and sundry to mobilize themselves to participate in the process.

In his comments, the INEC REC, Imo state, Prof. Francis Ezeonu said that the 2019 election will be conducted using the card reader machines which had been upgraded to perform optimally stressing that there will be no use of incident form.

He hinted that there will be no collection of PVC by proxy saying that any polling unit where there is violence, that booth will be cancelled.
