The Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC) has renewed its commitment to support the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) in executing all its projects and progrmmes that the new executive of the association will come up with which will lead to port efficiency.
The Executive Secretary of the NSC, Barr. Hassan Bello who made this commitment during the swearing in ceremony of the new ANLCA President, Hon. Tony Iju Nwabunike in Lagos recently stated that the Council recognized the important roles of the customs licensed agents as the link between the Nigerian shippers whom they protect and the port service providers.
Represented by the Deputy Director, Compliance Monitoring of the Council, Chief Cajethan Agu, the NSC helmsman added that the Council was at the event to encourage them to continue to provide that linkage which he said was very important to Nigeria.
“We equally recognize the need for partnership between government and the private sector and it equally manifested in the partnership between Shippers’ Council and ANLCA in the recently concluded enlightenment on the need for compliance to trade laws, regulations and guidelines which took place in Lagos, Kano and Onitsha.
“We are here to renew our commitment to support your executive, we are equally here to let you know that all the projects and programmes that the new executives will come up with which will lead to port efficiency, we are committed to support you.
“On our own part as the port economic regulator, we will continue to be unbiased and we will continue to provide a level playing ground for all stakeholders. We assure you that we will continue to support your association, we assure you that anytime you come to us, we will listen to you, we are also assuring you that decisions to be taken as far as the industry is concerned, we will ensure that we protect the interest of all stakeholders”, he said.
