The Association of Registered Freight Forwarders Nigeria (ARFFEN) has alleged that an unnamed Trustee of the association and a founder of a sister association has perfected plans to register a supposedly amended version of AREFFN constitution that was not approved by the association with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

In a statement made available to Primetime Reporters by the interim National Secretary of the association, Mr. Chidi Anthony Opara yesterday, the association however maintained that those behind the move should note that if the move succeeds, it would be reversed going by the weight of the substantial evidence to the contrary at its disposal.

It also warned that case of forgery would be established against the perpetrators of this act to the appropriate security agencies.

“It reads,” We are in possession of information that an AREFFN trustee and the “Founder” of a sister association are planning to register a supposedly amended version of AREFFN constitution that was not approved with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). Please be informed that if that is done, it will be reversed, considering the weight of substantial evidence to the contrary at our disposal. Be also informed that complaints of forgery will be made to the appropriate security agencies”.

It will be recalled that the association recently reviewed its constitution and handed it over to the interim National Executive Council to harmonize it in conjunction with the Board of Trustees of AREFFN and register same with the CAC as the grand norm of the association within one month, an action which is yet to be taken.
