CRFFN clears 16 candidates to contest Governing Council seats

As preparation for the election of practitioners into the Governing Council of the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) gathers momentum, the Council has cleared 16 candidates for the contest of the election slated for June 29, 2018.

A screening exercise was held for the contestants on Friday, 22nd of June, 2018 at the Freight Forwarders Headquarters, GRA Apapa, Lagos by the Screening Committee was under the watchful eyes and involvement of five Officers of the Department of State Security (DSS).

According to a statement issued in Lagos yesterday by the Registrar of the Council, Sir Mike Jukwe, those who were cleared for the exercise includes;

The statement further gives details of other activities preceding the election as follows;

  1. Friday, 22nd June, 2018 – Display of the attached Result at the Freight Forwarders’ Headquarters (CRFFN Head Office) and the Zonal Offices in Port Harcourt & Kano and the Liaison Office in Abuja.

 

  1. Monday 25th and Tuesday 26th June, 2018 – Submit and resolve all complaints arising therefrom at the Freight Forwarders’ Headquarters (CRFFN Head Office).

 

  1. Wednesday, 27th June, 2018 – Display of final list of contestants.

 

  1. Thursday, 28th June, 2018 – Accreditation of Voters at Freight Forwarders’ Headquarters, GRA Apapa, Lagos.

 

  1. Friday, 29th June, 2018 – Election and release of result at the Freight Forwarders’ Headquarters (CRFFN Head Office).

 

  1. Monday 2nd – Wednesday 4th July, 2018 – Submit and resolve all complaints arising therefrom at the Freight Forwarders’ Headquarters (CRFFN Head Office).

 

  1. Thursday 5th July, 2018 – Retreat for all the 32 members and election of the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Governing Council at Abuja.

     8.Friday 6th July, 2018 – Inauguration of the 3rd Governing Council of the CRFFN at Abuja by the Honourable Minister of Transportation.

 

While thanking all who have supported the Council so far, Jukwe also pleaded for cooperation and support of all the stakeholders for the success of the election even as he urged them not to hesitate to contact the Registrar if the need arises.
