As preparations for the election of the practitioners into the Governing Council of the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) gathers momentum, former National President of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Dr. Eugene Nweke has declared his intention to contest for a seat in the Council.

Nweke who made this known in a press statement he issued in Lagos yesterday and made available to Primetime Reporters said that his decision to participate in the said election was driven by his passion for the freight forwarding profession, which according to him still suffered leadership neglect and professional mis-prioritization.

While acknowledging the fact that his declaration may have been late, he however craved the understanding and supports of fellow professional colleagues to his humble aspirations.

The statement reads,”After a deep consideration and consultation with my family members, business associates, fellow professional colleagues and  critical friends within and outside the transport industry; It is with deep sense of service to my professional colleagues, the Freight Logistics sector of the Maritime Industry, that, I Fwdr. Eugene Ifeanyichukwu Nweke Rff, hereby declare my intention to participate in the forthcoming Council for the Regulations of Freight Forwarding Practices in Nigeria-  CRFFN – Governing Council members election 2018.

“My decision to participate in the said election is driven by my passion for the freight forwarding profession, which still suffers leadership neglect and professional misprioritization.

“Against these misgivings, I hereby humbly offer myself for the service of the freight forwarding profession in Nigeria.

“Though my decision to participate, may seems late but not too late (too late because tomorrow is likely the last day to conclude nomination process and submission), therefore, I crave the understanding and supports of fellow professional colleagues to this humble aspirations of mine.

“This release is merely to declare my intention to participate in the said election. Other activities, culminating into nomination and electioneering process shall be communicated shortly, as I progress on.

“The decision to participate and win an election into the CRFFN -Governing Council is entirely the decision of registered practicing freight forwarders. No candidate goes into the CRFFN Governing Council to represent himself other than the freight forwarding profession and professionals, hence, the decision as to who represents the freight forwarders is indeed sacrosanct and an undisputed rights of the forwarders to make.

“On this note, I once more offer myself to serve my professional colleagues with integrity of purpose. Together, we shall reposition our profession among the comity of global freight forwarding profession.

“I count on you!!”
