The Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) has for the third time rescheduled the election of the practitioners into its governing council.
The election which was moved from the 16th of May, 2018 to the 29th of June, 2018 was within 24 hours to the new date put off indefinitely without any reason, a development which drew the ire of the freight forwarding associations as well as that of the contestants.
So many reasons had been advanced by industry watchers as being responsible for the postponement.
However, in a text message widely circulated by the Registrar of CRFFN, Sir Mike Jukwe, on Monday which was sighted by Primetime Reporters, the election is now to take place on Saturday 7th of July, 2018 which would be preceded by accreditation of voters on Thursday 5th and Friday 6th July, 2018 at 9.00am.
The message also gave the venue of the election as the Freight Forwarders Headquarters, GRA, Apapa, Lagos.
The message read,”While accreditation of Voters holds on Thursday and Friday, 5th and 6th July, 2018, the election of Practitioners into the Governing Council now holds on Saturday, 7th July, 2018. Venue: Freight Forwarders’ Hqtrs. GRA Apapa, Lagos. Time: 9am daily. With best regards. Mike Jukwe”.
Recall that 16 contestants have already been cleared to contest the election in a screening conducted by the Screening Committee with observers from the Department of State Services (DSS) a fortnight ago.
