The Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN) has distanced itself from a Facebook account with the name “Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria, Cbcn”.

A statement signed by the Director of Social Communications, Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN), Rev. Fr. Chris Anyanwu said that the account which enjoyed over ten thousand followership does not belong to the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria and was therefore not connected with or responsible for any information posted on the said Facebook account.

The CSN which is the administrative office of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), therefore warned the general public not to have anything to do with the said Facebook account as anyone patronizing the account was doing so at his or her own detriment.

The statement reads,” The Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN), the administrative office of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), has just identified a facebook page with the name “Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria, Cbcn”. The page currently enjoys over ten thousand followership.

“We wish to state categorically that the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN)  has no official face book page in this name and is therefore not connected with or responsible for any information posted on this spurious face book page.

“The public is hereby notified that anyone patronizing the page is doing so at his/her own detriment”.
