In the tripartite Ministerial briefing on the election situations/arrangement held on Monday 2nd July, 2018 at the Transport Ministry in Abuja, the duo of the  Permanent Secretary and CRFFN Registrar.

It was learnt that, apart from other issues highlighted before the Honorable Minister, the most striking and convincing moral justification why the election should go on as planned, is that:

  1. In the past 4 years, NAGAFF is the only accredited association that has used its chapter electioneering process to mobilize more than 4000 members to effect the first and second stages of membership registration with the CRFFN at N15,000 per member, this process yielded over forty million into the coffers of the government.
  2. Out of the 1,098 cleared voters list, having effected the annual subscription fees ranging from N10,500 & N20,900 for staff and executive membership respectively, a cross check revealed that NAGAFF has close to 900 members shortlisted as eligible voters, while the other four accredited associations collectively has less than 200 eligible voters on the list.

With this process, NAGAFF has also successfully paid above Seven Million Naira into the CRFFN confers.

  1. From the contestants’ list, a total of 10 NAGAFF members picked and paid a contestant nomination form of non-refundable fee of N500, 000 each. This process too yielded the sum of Five Million Naira duly paid into the coffers of the CRFFN.
  2. NAGAFF has to prune down its contesting members to accommodate the three other financially weak accredited associations in this process, pursuance to its quest for an all-inclusive governing council representation.
  3. NAGAFF went ahead to render financial aid to some of the contestant from the three other accredited associations.
  4. From the ongoing, NAGAFF has all it takes to win the 15 seats as provided and interpreted in the Act 16, 2007, but in a show of purposeful leadership, with a profound sense of magnanimity, it choose to play a big brother freight forwarding accredited associations roles.
  5. Judging by the endorsed contestant sharing formula into the election of: NAGAFF 6: ANLCA 6; AREFF 1; NAFFAC 1; NCMDLCA 1. It then implies that this has become an official template to guide the future associations’ dealings thereby leading to industry harmony by and by.

It is on the basis of the above efforts, that, I wish to sincerely appreciate and commend the management of NAGAFF for its magnanimity.

I also commend the HMOT & Transport Ministry PS and the CRFFN management for their moral consideration & justification.

Congratulations to you all.

Thanks.

Nweke Ifeanyichukwu Eugene.
