…10 persons to embark on Digipreneur/business trip to China

The 2nd Edition of the monthly Mentoring Moment being organized by Anambra State Government through the Ministry of Youth Empowerment and Creative Economy was held on Monday in Awka with 1000 youths mentored by Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah who was the mentor of the month.

Aside the mentoring session, ten youths in Anambra State qualified for the first phase of digital entrepreneurship and business training trip to China.

The youths were participants at the Mentoring Moment which had Engr. Ifeanyi Aniagoh, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano on Youth Development and Digital Entrepreneurship as host.

The youths, who emerged after a lucky dip included, Miss Chinelo Enukora,  Mr. Uchenna Okafor, Mr. Valentine Aladi,  Mrs. Vera Abana and  Mr. Jeremiah  Onyedikachukwu.

Others were Miss Miracle Chukwujekwu, Mr. Okpala Chukwuma, Mr. Gabriel Nnadume, Mr. Chizelim Ogbogu and Miss Deliverance Ezenwegbu.

Speaking to newsmen in Awka, the governor’s aide, Aniagoh said the mentoring moment is a unique platform designed in line with the vision of Gov. Obiano to change the narratives for Anambra Youths.

Aniagoh said the lucky 10 would enjoy all expense paid trip and participate in the forthcoming World Trade Fair in China courtesy of Chief Ifeanyi Ubah, Chairman of Capital Oil and Gas Group.

He said the trip would enable the youths to explore the opportunities in the digital entrepreneurship space and equip them with necessary skill to catch-in on the promising economy of the Information Technology.

He said: “We had our August Edition of Mentoring Moment and it was great. Mentoring moment is a programme designed to awaken the minds of the youths to grab the opportunities around them and use their creativity to contribute to the economy.

“It’s the vision of Gov. Willie Obiano of Anambra State to raise the pool of young entrepreneurs that would dictate the pace in the digital world. So, through special Digipreneur programs like this, we guide the young people on self-development; give them the right orientation before arming them with desirable digital skills.

“Chief Ifeanyi Ubah who was the mentor of the month provided opportunity to 10 lucky youths to go to China for more exposure; they are being prepared to become world class entrepreneurs.

“So, while other states are battling to provide ‘unavailable’ jobs, Anambra State through the visionary leadership of Gov. Obiano is changing the narratives for our youths, preparing them to become wealth creators and employers of labour.”

“These programs are only possible because we have a youth-friendly governor in Chief Willie Obiano; an energetic Commissioner for Youth, Bonaventure Enemali; and robust partnership with Stanel World, Anambra Broadcasting Service, DigitalPr-Wire and many other good willing individuals/groups”, he said.

He said through the Digipreneur programs, 2000 persons have been mentored and over 2600 trained on digital skills while urging those who have had the privilege to make good use of the opportunities.
