AREFFN concludes tour of customs commands in eastern zone, relocates National Secretariat

The National leadership of Association of Registered Freight Forwarders, Nigeria (AREFFN), led by Alhaji Bala Lawan Daura has concluded its familiarization tour of customs command in the eastern zone, with a visit to the Customs Area Comptroller of area 2 Command, Onne, Rivers State, Comptroller Aliyu Galadima Saidu.

Accompanied the AREFFN President on the tour were the National Secretary, Comrade Chidi Anthony Opara, the Eastern Secretary, Hon. Ebere Ekwem, Chairman, Onne Chapter, Chief Gabriel Okonkwo, Chairman, Port Harcourt Seaport Chapter, Chief Kerian Uzowuru and others.

A statement by the interim National Secretary of the association, Mr. Chidi Antony Opara pointed out that the Eastern Zone Coordinator and other National Executive members were unavoidably not on the entourage.

During the tour, the AREFFN President, Alhaji Bala Lawan Daura reiterated the policy of the association to assist in trade facilitation and other objectives of the government in the subsector.

Daura also reiterated the association’s policy of synergy with sister associations for peace in the subsector.

The familiarization tour of Western Zone chapters according to the statement would commence in October, 2018.

Meanwhile, the AREFFN has said that it has secured a new National Secretariat in Lagos for its operation.

A statement by the interim National Secretary of the association, Mr. Chidi Opara gave the address of the new National Secretariat as Block A, Plot 4, Apapa-Oshodi Expressway, by Globespin, Coker Bus Stop, Lagos.

“We finalized payment of the rent today. Soonest, the signpost would be mounted, furnishings done and an admin Secretary employed”, Opara said.
