The House of Representatives Candidate for the Nnewi North/South and Ekwusigo Federal constituency of Anambra State under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Tony Iju Nwabunike has said that he will collaborate with the Senatorial Candidate of the Party, Hon. Prnce Nicholas Ukachukwu to sponsor a legislation that will be an incentives to transforming the business communities in the constituency as well as attract Federal Government presence to the various areas of need in the business communities if elected into office in 2019.
Nwabunike who made this pledge while addressing the people of his constituency at Ozubulu recently observed that Nnewi North/Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal constituency was adjudged the commercial nerve center of Anambra State.
He added that “Statistical data from NPA shows that 65% of goods imported into South East is from my constituency, also most government policies as it affects import guidelines are not favorable to my business constituents and it is my duty to correct the norms.
“Nnewi North in particular has the biggest motorcycle market in West Africa; no wonder the former President of Nigeria, General Ibrahim Babaginda calls the town the Japan of Africa.
“With Ho. Nicholas Ukachukwu, an astute Business man from Nnewi South Local Government Area in the Senate and my humble self, a Maritime Guru with over 30 years experience in that critical sub sector from Ekwusigo Local Government in the House of representative, we are going to sponsor legislations that will be an incentives to transforming the business communities and also attract Federal Government presence to the various areas of need in the business communities.
“We are going to ensure that there is ease of doing business as regards to the multiple taxation already strangling businesses and facilitate the synergy with security agencies like the Nigeria Customs, in order to facilitate free flow of goods and services within our constituency”.
