Party Primaries: Police arrest 84 political thugs in Lagos

The Lagos State Police command has arrested a total of 84 thugs during the recently concluded political parties’ primaries in the state.

The Commissioner of Police Lagos State, Mr. Edgal Imohimi who disclosed this in a press briefing in Lagos on Monday said that the suspects were arrested in Ajegunle Apapa and Itire areas of the state.

The CP however thanked Lagosians for conducting themselves peacefully during and after the recently concluded parties’ primaries which according to him, by all security indices was hugely successful.

“Of course, the entire exercise in the state was hugely successful. This is not to say however that there were no pockets of skirmishes in some parts of the state owing to the activities of thugs but these thugs were contained immediately they started their activities.

“In all, the command arrested a total of 84 thugs from various parts of the state some of whom are being paraded here today”, he said.

Imohimi therefore, gave the names of those arrested as thugs in Ajegunle Apapa during the process as; Uche Onwuemena, Papa Esang, Obiajulu Monyei, Mustapha Seriki, Alaba Bakare, Abraham Gabriel, Godwin Keme, Obinna Asigbe, Ijeoma Onyema, Sodiq Inusa, Okere Kingsley, Sunday Robert, Aliu Adinomo, Anayo Egwu, Ismaila Tiamiu and Umuro Marvelous.

Others are; Folounso Abdulsalam, Sunday Anefiong, Tosin Sunday, Steven Okorie, Abraham Alexander, Joseph Egboson, Monday Alani, David Emeka, Kelvin Akpobome, Obu Adim, Friday Solomon, Kayode Ajayi, Solomon Moses, Monday Edet, Bala Ugbeda, Moses Obende, Nojim Sani, Femi Oyeleke, Ikechukwu Uwaze, John Sunday, Emmanuel Nyaji, Taofeek Goddy, Salisu Hassan, Ismaila Babatunde, John Michael, Lucky Temuru, Chemezie Uche and , Chuks Godson.

Also arrested in Ajegunle Apapa are; Rasak Giwa, Doctor Richard, Shittu Abdulahi, Emmanuel Agbadu, Junior Dudu, Jude Ibeh, Kelechi Osogemeh, Victor Isong, Kalu Okpan, Olayinka Fatoke, Papa Godwin, Junior Ifeanyi and Eric Emmanuel.

In Itire, those arrested included; Taiwo Yusuf, Akeem Aream, Quadri Agunpopo, Taiwo Ajibade, Akinboluwa Sunkanmi, Akeem Suleimon, Ibrahim Atinuke, Tunde Usman, Shola Ahmed, Michael Odunbajo and Ahmed Jimoh.

All the suspects arrested are male.
