The Anambra State Government has called on landlords across the state to be wary of the kind of tenants they accommodate in their various houses.

The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano who made the call during the State Executive Council Meeting at the Government House Awka, assured the citizenry that Anambra remained the safest State in Nigeria while threatening that buildings being used for criminal hideouts would be demolished in accordance with the provisions of the criminal laws of the State.

Obiano therefore advised landlords to ascertain the backgrounds of prospective tenants before all granting them accommodation.

He however commended security agencies for arresting the suspects that allegedly assassinated the President-General of Nimo Town Union, Chief Anthony Frank Igboka.

The Governor, who regretted that cultism had become a challenge in the Country, explained that a special police anti-cult squad was dedicated to tackle the menace, warning youths in the state to desist from involving themselves in crimes and criminalities.

He revealed that five million naira (N5, 000,000.00) reward earlier announced by the State Government for anyone with information on killers of Chief Anthony Frank Igboka had since been paid to the informant who disclosed the identity of the assassins even as he added that extra five million naira (N5, 000,000.00) reward per head was still up for grab by those that would give information leading to the arrest of remaining three suspects.

Gov. Obiano while maintaining that the security agencies were relentlessly searching for the remaining suspected killers of the President-General, Nimo Town Unio, he however advised criminals residing in the state to leave  as he was determined to protect the lives of the citizens and residents of the state no matter where they lived.
