World Quality Alliance has on Friday presented the Management of RUZU Herbal Products and Services Limited with the International Standards Organization (ISO) Certification in a brief ceremony at RUZU’s corporate head office in Lagos.
Speaking shortly before the presentation, the Country Director/ Chief Executive Officer of World Quality Alliance, Mr. Desmond Esorougwe disclosed that ISO set out to actually ensure there was conformity and conformance of products and services to standards adding that ISO does not regulate products and services but spells out the procedures and put it in a document to help companies like RUZU Bitters to actually plan and have good products and services.
Esorougwe noted that as at the last count, ISO had about twelve thousand certifications in different areas but for the kind of products that RUZU had, it was System Management Quality Certification as the company specialized in health products and services.
He said,” Because of our relationship with the company, we were trying to do a research and send companies around the world that will be recognized by ISO and out of forty-eight companies that we sent, sixteen companies were actually recognized and RUZU was one of them. So, when I called the CEO to inform him about this effort that we have made, we did it silently because I felt that if I tell him that we sent some companies’ names to ISO, he will say I should have told him so that he see what we want to send.
“So, I decided to do it on his behalf because of our relationship with him and the whole of the categories that we sent, there were no herbal products and herbal products in ISO is not up to ten years of its existence. It started first in India, down to the US –Herbal Right, now in Africa –RUZU Bitters. You can see that this is a milestone for all of us here. History has actually been made here.
“So, I want us to first of all thank God for this effort that RUZU has put together as an organization and I want to say that for some of us that are working in the company, this is just the beginning of greatness”.
While explaining the benefits of having ISO certification to the staff of the company which includes making RUZU a member of global village, he added that with the ISO certification, the company can sell RUZU products and services on the streets of the United States of America even as he promised to talk to the Marketing team on how better they could use the ISO certification to market their products as well as how to use it as a marketing edge to market their products differently.
“So, I want to on behalf of the World Quality Alliance and the International Standards Organization present this certificate to you having assessed the quality of your products and services”, he said.
Responding, the Chief Executive Officer of RUZU Herbal Products and Services Limited, Dr. Robert Onyemaechi Uzu while describing the event as an exciting moment admitted that they were all excited at the development.
Uzu who was represented at the presentation by the Head of Administration, Mr. Olajide Ige also described Mr. Desmond Esorougwe as “a friend of the company” who he said would soon become a partner, an investor and one of the Directors of the company as it was evident that he (Esorougwe) havd that passion for the company.
According to him,” On behalf of the Management and staff of the company, RUZU Herbal Products and Services Limited, we want to appreciate you for your efforts. You worked clandestinely, it was not open to us, we are not actually in the know that you were doing something like that but thank God your effort has yielded fruit today.
“So, we want to really thank you for that and we still have a lot to do together and like you said, this is the beginning of better days and greater things to come. So, we really want to appreciate you and say congratulation. Let me say this, your organization has been very beneficial to us, we have won several awards from the organization and your organization has really projected the company, RUZU Herbal Products and Services Limited. We still believe that you will continue to project the company”.
Appreciating the members of the staff of the company, he said, “ I really want to appreciate you, God will continue to keep us together and better things will continue to happen in the life of the company. So, thank you and God bless you”.
