…Evacuates two corpses from shop
The Lagos State Police command has evacuated the body of a 42 year-old man identified as Enifeh Akupa Omomo of No. 12, Eruga Street, Aga-Ikorodu, who allegedly killed his 38 year-old wife, Mrs. Faith Omomo and his six years old son, Glorious Omomo and thereafter committed suicide in his one room apartment.
Confirming the incident in a statement in Lagos on Sunday, the Public Relations Officer of the command, DSP Bala Elkana, noted that Ikorodu Police Station received a distress call to that effect on the 24th of May, 2019 at about 8.00am informing that the Homicide Department of the command had already visited the scene of the incident.
He disclosed that on arrival of the operatives of the Homicide Department, the corpse of the suspect was found hanging on a rope, tied to the ceiling fan, while corpses of his wife and son were found on the floor.
“Bodies of the deceased persons were evacuated to General Hospital for autopsy. Investigation is ongoing”, he added.
Meanwhile, the Lagos State Police Command has arrested one Mr. Cletus Williams, a security guard with the Lagos State Polytechnic for killing his colleague, Okoro John while they were on night duty.
A statement by the command’s spokesman, Bala Elkana on Sunday disclosed the suspect used a sharp knife to slash the throat of the victim and also chopped off his right wrist even as he added that the Homicide detectives from State Criminal Investigation Department Yaba were investigating the case to ascertain the motive behind the killing.
Elkana however noted that the arrest which was effected on the 24th May, 2019 at about 7.00am was made possible by the operatives of Shagamu Road Police Station in collaboration with the Chief Security Officer of the Polytechnic in Ikorodu.
According to him, “The knife used for the murder is recovered. Suspect will soon be charged to Court for murder”.
In a related development, the Police in Lagos have evacuated the bodies of two young men from a shop in Ojota area of the state.
According to the command’s spokesman, Bala Elkana, one Stanley Omah of No. 46 Olatunji Street, Ojota, on 21st of May, 2019 at about 7.30am, reported at Ojota Police Station that on the same date at about 6.30am, his brothers in law namely; Emmanuel John, 21 years old and John Paul, 22 years old were found dead in the shop.
He disclosed that the victims locked up themselves in the shop were they usually sleep, turn on the generator in the same shop and slept off.
“The scene was visited by Homicide detectives and the corpses were evacuated to General hospital for autopsy. Investigation is ongoing”, he said.
