In its quest to identify critical stakeholders in all sectors of the nation’s economy, the Ohaneze Ndigbo Lagos State chapter recently paid a working visit to the National Headquarters of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) at Apapa, Lagos State.
Speaking during the visit, the Chairman of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Lagos State, Chief Solomon Ogbonna emphasized that Ohaneze hasd a major role to play in ensuring that Igbo businesses imbibe the culture of international best practice to trade rules and regulations so as to avoid obvious loss of investment.
Ogbonna restated his resolve to partner with professional bodies such as NAGAFF in its quest to safeguard, protect and propagate the interest of Ndigbo in a cosmopolitan state such as Lagos.
Earlier in his welcome speech, the founder of NAGAFF, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam expressed his joy on the timely visit of Ohaneze in view of the very daunting challenges facing international trade at the entry points of the seaports, airports and borders.
However, after exhaustive interaction by both parties, it was resolved that a joint technical committee should be set up to streamline their level of interventions on international trade and investment at the entry points of Nigeria and indeed Lagos state in particular.
It was also resolved that all Igbo business men and women would be fully sensitized and mobilized to be committed to the patriotic cause of Ohaneze in Lagos.
