Okonmah bags Honorary Doctorate from European – American University

In recognition of his hard work and service to humanity, the European-American University, Commonwealth of Dominica, African Regional Operations, has conferred an Honorary Doctorate Degree on Assistant Comptroller of Customs, AC Steve Okonmah.

The honour which was conferred on Okonmah on 6th July, 2019, took place at CNIT Lome, Togo, confederation Nationale Dos Travailleurs.

The Plaque which was presented to him on the occasion read,” European-American University Commonwealth of Dominica African Regional Operations, having fully studied the impressive work experience and achievements of Chief Dr. Steve Azukaego Okonmah for his achievements and outstanding roles in leadership and therefore confers on him on 6/07/2019 with the  prestigious Award of Doctor of Science (D.Sc Hons) in National Resources Control, Security and Management, with all rights and privileges of the University”.

Okonmah was born into the family of Chief James and Lolo Justina Okonmah of Ibusa in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State.

He grew up with his family in Ado-Ekiti the capital of Ekiti State. As a young man, he attended various institutions among which were St. Thomas Teachers College, Pioneer Student of College of Education Agbor and Lagos State University where he graduated as a Public Administrator.

He worked as a teacher in primary and secondary school before joining the Nigeria Customs Service in 1992. He has served in various units of the service ranging from Enforcement, Revenue to investigation. He became popular as a Public Relations Officer in various commands of the Service.

Dr. Okonmah is currently in the Investigation Unit of the Service at the Customs Headquarters, Abuja.

Chief Dr. Okonmah Steve Azukaego is a man of humility and diligence in security service. He is an outstanding achiever and a hardcore paramilitary officer of great reckoning whose commitment to duty typified by his resilience on achieving results, even in very difficult circumstances has earned him the enviable position he now occupies in the present day of the Nigeria Customs Service hierarchy.

In the course of his service, Okonmha is a recipient of more than two hundred Awards from different organizations, including an Honorary Doctorate Degree. He is a philanthropist to the core and has impacted so many lives immensely.

He is a Christian, happily married and blessed with disciplined children.
