The Zamfara State Police command has described as false a story and a picture making the round on social media where one Michael, a corp member serving with Nasara standard Academy, Kaura Namoda purported to have been brutalised, manhandled and reduced to nothing following a punishment given to one of his female student, a daughter to one of the richest man in the area.

In a statement issued over the weekend by the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Mohammed Shehu on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Zamfara State Police command, the command stated categorically that the story and picture under circulation were not only incorrect but baseless, misleading and mischievous capable of causing panic and apprehension among the serving corps members in the state.

The statement added that from the crime statistics of the command, there was no incident involving any serving corps member or any report from the state National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Secretariat in this regard.

“The command therefore uses this medium to completely debunk the story and urge members of the public to discountenance it in its entirely. However, the command warns that it will not tolerate any act that will disturb the public peace in the state, and it resolves to deal decisively with any person or group of person found to be undermining the relative peace being enjoyed in the state.

“The Commissioner of Police, Zamfara State command, CP Usman Nagogo psc+  appeals for support and cooperation from members of the public in identifying these mischief makers so that they can be made to face the full wrath of the law”, the statement added.
