The Commissioner of Police Anambra State, CP John Abang yesterday received in audience the new Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Anambra State command, Mr. David Urbanus Bille who paid him a courtesy visit at the State Police command headquarters, Awka.

A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Haruna Mohammed in Awka yesterday said that the Commandant was warmly received by the Commissioner of Police and issues bordering on synergy and other security challenges in the state were extensively discussed between the two security heads.

The statement stated that both agencies had resolved to work harmoniously and enhance existing cordial relationships among the security agencies in order to promote safety and security in the state.

It added that the CP equally received in audience members of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP), Federal Polytechnic, Oko chapter led by its Chairman, Comrade Igbokwe Samuel who paid him a familiarization visit and assured the CP of their maximum support towards enhancing security in the state.

“The CP equally met with Anambra state tipper association in his office as part of his efforts towards finding lasting solutions to the lingering feud between the association and the state internally generated revenue officials through alternative dispute resolution”, the statement further said.
