The National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) has described as untrue reports in some section of maritime and social media alleging that there is lacuna in the leadership of the agency.

In a statement signed by the General Manager, Corporate Affairs, NIWA, Mr. Tayo Fadile over the weekend, the agency urged the general public to disregard the stories making the rounds in the public space adding that there was no such thing as lacuna in the administration of the agency.

The statement said, “The out gone Managing Director, Senator Mamora officially handed over the mantle of leadership to Barrister Danladi Ibrahim, who was the former Ag.MD of NIWA.

“The office is calm and all the General Managers are working harmoniously with the Ag.MD.

“Barrister Danladi Ibrahim will remain the Ag.MD of NIWA until the Federal Government appoints a substantive MD for the Authority.

“The general public should please note that any narrative contrary to what is stated here is false and should be ignored.”
