There’s urgent call to step up the visionary capacity of the elected officials to a world-class standard, if Anambra is to stand a chance of competing on the global stage.
The statement above captured the essence of the gathering of the Soludo Support Group (SSG), Awka South Local Government Area of Ananmbra State headed by its Coordinator, Hon. Obi Modilim (Ochije Awka) yesterday at Maybond Hotel, Awka.
Speaking to the executive and ward representatives of the group, Hon. Obi Ochije Modilim, charged everyone to step up their game, stating that Awka being the State Capital, it is expected that the Support Group will double its effort.
Part of the agenda raised for deliberation was the inauguration of the Awka South branch of the support group, and a committee of six persons, three each from the two constituencies that made up Awka South was immediately constituted.
For the group which is expected to grow its membership in the coming days, the respected human right activist who is leading the front in Awka South, Hon. Obi Ochije Modilim, affirmed Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s candidacy as the best thing that can happen to Anambra.
“Soludo has the requisite tools to enhance the developmental strides of Anambra State and there is no doubt about that”, he enthused.
With other matters raised and dissected, members of the group present were given ample opportunity to ask questions and make contributions.
Comr. Oramalu Emmanuel, the National Secretary of SSG Media Team, submitted that his interest and intention is to see the fulfillment of his dream, which is seeing Prof. Charles Soludo leading the State as Governor.
According to him, ” It is near impossible for Soludo to fail in Anambra, having performed creditably well in all positions he held, both locally and internationally.”
He called on members to put in their best and be fully committed to the project.
Mr. Isaac Nwokoye, Isiagu ward Coordinator also added that the essence of having the group is to canvass for people and enlarge the support base because politics is all about number.
Others, who took turn to speak, include the local government women leader of the support group and some ward coordinators.
Wards coordinators were mandated to submit their ward list on time and date for the next meeting was announced.
