The National President of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Chief Iju Tony Nwabunike will lead his National Executive Committee (NECOM) members on a courtesy visit to the headquarters of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) on Wednesday 4th March, 2020, Head of Special Duties, NAGAFF Headquarters, Rev. Emmanuel Agubanze has said.

The visit, according to Agubanze in a statement made available to our correspondent in Lagos on Friday, would afford the two leading associations in the total logistics management supply chain industry the opportunity to further engage in discussions that would entrench and foster deeper relationship which would shape future engagements towards advancing the course of the freight forwarding profession in Nigeria.

He recalled that the cordial relationship existing between NAGAFF and ANLCA had in the past led to the exchange of visits and other forms of interactions involving the top echelon of the two associations. This has led to the associations presenting common front towards tackling issues likely to inhibit the progress of the sub sector.

“It is expected that this visit will further deepen the existing cordial relationship between the two leading associations in the industry. At the moment, freight forwarding practitioners are undergoing avoidable circumstances including but not limited to extortion by agencies of government and indeed the overbearing excess charges of the shipping companies and terminal operators etc. It is expected that thereafter the visitation, the two leading associations are likely to engage the federal government and heads of government agencies associated with port operations”, he said.
