Journalists International Forum for Migration (JIFORM) has described the appointment of a prominent journalist and one of its members, Simon Ebegbulem into Imo State cabinet as a fresh hope for the state.

Until his appointment, the senior journalist with passion for migration reporting was the Special Adviser on Media to the former Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiohmole, a position he held with honour.

In a statement issued by the President of JIFORM, Ajibola Abayomi, the foundation praised Governor Hope Odidika Uzodinma for meritoriously choosing Ebegbulem to serve as Commissioner saying “with this, the governor has given the state a fresh hope of excellent service.”

“We received with admiration the news of the appointment and his subsequent clearance at the Imo State House of Assembly. His choice is one of the best things happening in the state at moment. It is an indication that the governor will reposition the state to higher height with merit, this gladdens our heart.

“The appointment is a testimony to efficiency of a distinguished journalist with pedigree over the years. We greet the great pen pusher and member of JIFORM who by his appointment has once again made us proud.

“There is no doubt that Imo State will benefit immensely from the multi- talented journalist loaded with progressive ideas and skills mostly required in the state at this point in time. Congratulations to one of the finest brains in the media profession”, JIFORM President added.
