The Presidency has announced the passage of the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Mallam Abba Kyari.
The Special Assistant to the President (Media & Publicity), Garba Shehu who announced this on Saturday morning via his verified Twitter handle disclosed that Mallam Kyari died on Friday April 17, 2020 from the Coronavirus complications.
Garba recalled that the deceased had tested positive to the ravaging COVID-19 and had been receiving treatment.
While praying God to accept his soul, the SSA to the President said that funeral arrangement would be announced soon.
It reads, “The Presidency regrets to announce the passage of the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari.
“The deceased had tested positive to the ravaging COVID-19, and had been receiving treatment. But he died on Friday, April 17, 2020.
“May God accept his soul. Funeral arrangements will be announced shortly.”
