Man in Police net for allegedly setting ablaze public power generating set in Awka

Police operatives attached to the Anambra State Police command’s Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) on Friday arrested one Ekenedilichukwu Ebuka, 27, of Nibo community in Awka South Local Government Area of the state following intelligence report.

Confirming the arrest, the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Haruna Mohammed disclosed that the suspect had at about 10.30pm on Thursday, allegedly set ablaze government Mikano generator used for powering street light located at Umuokpu in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Mohammed said that the suspect had equally confessed to the crime voluntarily.

He however informed that case was under investigation to ascertain the motive behind his action after which suspect would be charged to Court for prosecution.
