Police nab 58 year old man for sodomy in Anambra

…Suspect attributes act to money ritual

Police operatives attached to Nnewi Division of the Anambra State Police command have arrested a 58 year old man identified as Josephat unachukwu from Edoji Uruagu in Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State for sodomy.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Haruna Mohammed who confirmed the arrest to newsmen in a statement in Awka on Thursday said that the suspect was arrested at about 1pm on Wednesday 8th April, 2020 following a tip off.

The PPRO noted that the suspect allegedly had unlawful carnal knowledge against the order of nature with 20 years old man to prepare for charm allegedly given to him by a Native doctor for money ritual.

He added that the case was reported to the police when the victim started exhibiting strange ailment.

He further disclosed that the suspect had equally made a voluntary confessional statement to the police and blamed his act on demons.

“Meanwhile, victim was taken to the hospital for medical examination.

“Consequently, the Commissioner of Police, CP John B. Abang,fdc has ordered for immediate transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for discreet investigation in order to ascertain circumstances surrounding the incident”, he concluded.
