Police Inspector Okoro Charles arrested for shooting, killing Fatai Oladipupo

The Lagos State Police Command has on Wednesday arrested Inspector Okoro Charles attached to Ikotun Division.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the command, DSP Bala Elkana who confirmed the arrest in a statement in Lagos on Thursday said that the Inspector was arrested in connection with a shooting incident reported on Wednesday at about 10.05pm, along Obabiyi, Igando road, Ikotun which led to the death of 28 year old Fatai Oladipupo of Obabiyi area.

Elkana disclosed that the Inspector was subjected to internal disciplinary procedures, known as Orderly Room Trial at the State Provost Department and if found guilty, would be handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department Yaba for prosecution in the conventional Court.

“Investigation is ongoing to unravel the circumstances surrounding the shooting incident”, he said.

He however informed that the Commissioner of Police Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu had condoled with the family and friends of the deceased and called for calm.

“He assures them that Justice will prevail. Members of the Public will be updated on the outcome of the investigation”, DSP Elkana added.
