A 24-year old man, Monday Eze has been arrested by the Police operatives attached to Central Police Station, Nnewi in conjunction with vigilante group for armed robbery.
The suspect who hailed from Isielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State was arrested at about 1.30pm last Friday following intelligence report.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer of the Anambra State Police Command, SP Haruna Mohammed, the suspect met his waterloo on Friday when he allegedly robbed and snatched a Qlink motorcycle belonging to one Mr. Mbam Patrick at Ndiaku-anozie, Uruagu, Nnewi.
Mohammed listed the exhibits recovered from to include; the snatched motorcycle, one locally made gun and other personal effects of the victim adding that the case was under investigation after which suspect would be charged to Court for prosecution.
“Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP John B.Abang,fdc enjoined the public particularly motorcycle riders to be extra vigilant on the passengers they carry as some of them belonged to motorcycle snatching syndicate who disguise as passengers to snatch their motorcycles at a slight opportunity”, he added.
