Police nab 20-year old man for defiling six year old girl in Anambra

20-year old Chikwado Anijiofor is now cooling his feet at the Okpoko Police Division of the Anambra State Police command for allegedly defiling a six year old girl in Okpoko, Ogbaru Local Government Area of the state.

Anijiofor, a native of Agbaumana in Eziagu Local Government Area of Enugu State who resides at Ogbudike, Okpoko was arrested at about 10.00am on Friday by the operatives of Okpoko Police Division.

According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Anambra State Police command, SP Haruna Mohammed in Awka yesterday, the suspect had on the 17th June, 2020 allegedly defiled a six years old girl who happened to be his neighbour’s daughter.

The statement added that the scene of the incident was visited by police detectives and victim taken to the hospital for medical examination.

“Meanwhile, suspect has voluntarily confessed to the offence”, the statement said.

It further disclosed that the Commissioner of Police Anambra State, CP John Abang had directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal investigation Department, Awka for discreet investigation after which suspect would be charged to court for prosecution.
