Sanwo-Olu extends business hours for food, non-food markets in Lagos

The Lagos State Government has extended the hours of operations of both food markets and non-food markets in the state.

They are now to open at 8am and close at 6pm.

In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs, Dr. Wale Ahmed, the decision of the Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-olu is to further enhance trade and commerce and mitigate the hardship of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Dr. Ahmed emphasized that the alternate days of operations still remains in force whereby food markets open on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, while non-food markets open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

He urged all traders to adhere strictly to the Covid-19 protocols for their safety and the citizenry at large.
