The Rector, Villanova Polytechnic, Imesi-Ile, Osun State, Prof. Anthony Ikechukwu OSA has been thrown into mourning as his father, Sir Emmanuel N. Kanu, KSJ dies at the age of 88.

The deceased was a retired lecturer from the Federal College of Education, Yola, Adamawa State, where he served in various capacities, as Deputy Provost and Acting Provost of the Federal institution.

He was an indigene of Arondizuogu in Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State.

Mourning the demise of the father of its foremost resource person and international migration advocate, Prof. Anthony Ikechukwu Kanu OSA, JIFORM in a statement issued in Lagos on Monday by its President/Executive Director , Mr. Abayomi Ajibola said, “We are sad by the death of Sir Emmanuel Kanu whom had departed to meet his creator. We shall continue to miss him but his footprint on the sand of time through our own Professor Kanu remains our consolation.

“On behalf of JIFORM, we commiserate with our distinguished Professor Kanu, over the passing away of his beloved dad.

“Professor of Professors, Ikechukwu Kanu, has been a great brain and teacher of JIFORM on migration issues from inception. At this challenging moment, our prayers and minds are with you, dear Professor.

“JIFORM prays that the Supreme Being will give you and your household the fortitude to bear the loss.

“Take note that we share your pains and were aware of the spirited efforts put in place to rescue the situation, but the one that gives and takes, chose to call the aged man to the glory and to the right side of eternity where all angelic souls will meet and path no more at different appointed time.

“Our dear teacher, please be strong and be of greater courage for the battle is over. Peace be upon you sir.”
