The Owners of Private Schools Association of Nigeria (OPSAN) has today embarked on a peaceful protest against child violence in Anambra State.

The protesters were received at the Anambra State Police command headquarters, Awka on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State, CP Monday Bala Kuryas by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Finance and Administration, DCP Simeon Akpanudom.

The DCP addressed the protesters and told them that the command was determined to stem the tide of violence against children noting that the recent arrest of a syndicate of child abuse from 33 Division was receiving attention in State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) and that after investigation; suspect(s) would be arraigned in the courts for appropriate punishment.

The CP also urged parents to take care of their children and know their whereabouts. He further thanked “Ndi Anambra” and residents alike for their cooperation by giving the police timely information that led to the arrest of the syndicate.
