…Pays special tribute to APC’s women leaders

The front line gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming Anambra gubernatorial election, Dr. Chidozie Nwankwo who is also the Chairman/CEO of the Wichtech Group has praised the ingenuity and industry of the Nigerian women, stating that they are “the thread that knits our society together.”

Dr. Chidozie Nwankwo stated this, as part of his message to mark the International Women’s Day; a day set aside to remember the contributions and sacrifices of women to the development of the world.

“Societies which have given women more leadership roles seem to succeed more these days. Women are more strategic, motivated and disciplined when it comes to getting things done. We have seen this in display in most leadership positions championed by women and in our society we need to give women more roles and freedom if we must defeat poverty and accelerate development. If given the opportunity to govern Anambra state, I will break all traditional and social stereotypes that limits the contributions of our women to the development of the state”, he stated

He further used the opportunity to celebrate Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala who was recently elevated as the Director General, World Trade Organization (WTO) and so many other women who are excelling in the corporate world, entrepreneurship and other sectors of the economy.

Dr. Nwankwo was also filled with kind words for all the APC women leaders in Anambra, describing them as giants. He stated that their commitment and perseverance are few of the reasons why the party in Anambra state has kept going. He was particularly thankful for their grassroots mobilization skills and their endurance in preaching the message of the party to all and sundry. He further assured that he has taken notice of their struggle and will do all within his best to create a deserved reward system for them.

Concluding, he encouraged all females regardless of age and location not to be deterred but continue to strive and work harder as success is closer than they think.
