Following the announcement made by Ports and Terminal Multiservices Limited to commence a special storage waiver promo with effect from Monday 26th July, 2021, the Africa Association of Professional Freight Forwarders and Logistics of Nigeria (APFFLON) has applauded the Management of the organization for making what it called laudable offer.
The President of the association, Otunba Frank Ogunojemite who made the position of APFFLON on the development known in a statement in Lagos on Tuesday said that the waiver would in no doubt encourage those who had abandoned their vehicles within the given time range to take delivery of the vehicles now that the waiver had drastically reduced the storage charges.
Ogunojemite noted that as an advocacy group, APFFLON should always commend those policies and procedures that would positively impact on freight forwarders and encourage ease of doing business hence the commendation.
“Recall that APFFLON had weeks ago, kicked against 50% increase in handling charges by PTML which we described as ill-timed and our protest occasioned the unscheduled visit of the immediate past Executive Secretary/CEO of Nigerian Shipper’s Council (NSC), Barr. Hassan Bello to the Management during which he appealed for the suspension of the increment.
“The Storage waiver promo came in an auspicious time, it came as a respite to those whose vehicles have been stucked in the terminal for the past six months due to the biting economic situation; a time when most people are struggling so hard to keep their businesses afloat.
“APFFLON hereby advise those concerned to leverage on this promo to take delivery of their vehicles within the time range while thanking PTML for the exemplary step”, the President stated
